A Canadian Bartender at Butlin's
written and performed by TJ Dawe
A
Canadian Bartender at Butlin's tells the story of a working holiday spent
pouring pints in the piano bar of Butlin's Holiday Centre - a British institution,
mocked for decades, and deservedly so.
Spoofed in the movie Tommy. Subject of a BBC sitcom. And an absolute shithole.
Imagine if Walmart ran holiday resorts. Butlin's is Walmart with overnight
accomodations.
Walmart surrounded by a spiked iron fence.
Walmart with beer.
And in house entertainment.
In the land of Oxford. Shakespeare.
Tom Stoppard.
Chariots of Fire.
Crisps.
Swimming-in-grease heart attack breakfasts.
And ghosts.
