Tired Clichés

ganglywritten and performed by TJ Dawe

Tired Clichés, at First, seems to be a scattering of monologues on unrelated thoughts - graveyard shifts, traffic lights, how gracefully cats vomit, and doesn't the word "skiing" just look wrong? Little by little a story emerges about a main character who graduates from university and finds himself with Nothing To Do and Nowhere To Go but the delightful world of minimum wage work. There's a jump into a pile of boxes and a surprise ending that ties everything together.

"This guy's heading for the Stand-Up Hall of Fame. Tired Clichés is one of the most original, tightly conceived, and well-performed comedy acts I've seen" - Colin Thomas, Georgia Straight

"Five Stars - Rigorously rehearsed work by a comedic genius. When word gets out about this brilliant beat comedian, he'll fill the Orpheum" - Peter Birnie, Vancouver Sun

"TJ Dawe is unnervingly captivating, increasingly edgy and brilliantly funny" - Patrick McDonald, Adelaide Advertiser (Australia)

TJ has toured Tired Clichés throughout Canada, the US and Australia.

The script of Tired Clichés is available through the Toronto Fringe Library.
