The Slip-Knot

written and performed by TJ Dawe

The Slip-Knot is a one person show about working horrible day jobs: stock-boy at a drug store, truck driver for a dumpster company and Christmas parcel tracker for the post office. There are three subplots: a long distance relationship, an attempt to sell a used van and the ordeal of finding an apartment in a new city.

"If you could listen to a juggler, and if that juggler were the most accomplished juggler in the world, the experience would be something like listening to TJ Dawe in The Slip-Knot" - Elizabeth Maupin, Orlando Sentinel

"A cross between a Dilbert comic strip and a Stuart McLean narrative" - Susan Down, Victoria
Times-Colonist

"It's a virtuoso performance. This is not just a lesson in rhythm, text and performance; it is also a scintillating explosion of imagination. Fine, fine theatre pulled out of thin air" - Gaetan Charlebois - Hour Magazine (Montreal)

TJ has toured The Slip-Knot throughout Canada and the US.

The script of The Slip-Knot is now available in print from Brindle and Glass.
