Sev (and the Rise of the Wizard of Bong)

written and performed by Charlie Ross, directed by TJ Dawe

Charlie Ross blazed across the fringe circuit with The One Man Star Wars Trilogy and One Man Lord of the Rings. He’s toured the world with these shows, doing a five month run off-Broadway in New York, a week at the Garrick theatre in London’s west end, two sold-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, appearances on "Late Night with Conan O’Brien", "The Today Show" and "Last Call with Carson Daly". He did a series of bumpers for an HBO Cinemax Star Wars marathon. He’s played regional theatres and festivals across Canada, the US, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore and the UK. He’s played to audiences of thousands at a time at Star Wars conventions and other science fiction and fantasy conventions. He did a command performance for the cast and crew of a Vin Diesel film. He’s hung out with Seth Green. He had lunch with Sir Ian McKellen. He’s even been featured on youtube.

Now he’s telling a story of his own. Sev chronicles his adventures as a cashier and service clerk at a 7-11 in Nelson – a small town in the mountains of BC – when he was a teenager, and discovering that his elaborate fantasy life could lead him to a life on the stage. The show’s in a similar style to his movie-based shows, with him acting all the parts and creating the environments with his voice and body. He does a thousand sound effects. He sings the stirring cinematic soundtrack in between lines. And he produces one gallon of perspiration per performance.
