Dawe a true original at Fringe festival

Labrador (4 Stars) is not a place you may ever have wanted to visit, but after master monologist TJ Dawe takes you there, you'll feel it's the perfect way to spend an hour of your fringe-going time.

Anyone who complains about a lack of quality of originality at the Fringe ought to hurry down to the Robert Gill Theatre, 214 College St, and catch one of Labrador's six remaining performances.

Dawe has a quicksilver mind and an Uzi-burst style of delivery that will make you find it hard to enjoy more conventional one-man shows.

He is no comedian, but he's a dazzlingly funny performer. His story of a children's theatre tour to Labrador is so much more than the sum of its parts that I won't try to describe it for you, or try to recreate Dawe's unique style. He's a true original and a total delight. To watch him recreating the moment where he downed four shots of Screech at once is worth the price of admission. Go see this show.
