Labrador

written and performed by TJ Dawe

Labrador is about a part of the world that practically no one knows anything about - Canada's own Siberia. The narrator's passport there is a children's theatre tour of Treasure Island. While there he stays at the Two Seasons Inn, gets screeched in, explores his father's Newfoundland roots and stumbles on a familysecret. It's a show about the cycle of generations, about the blurry line between autobiography and fiction and about the way Newfoundlanders say "yes" while drawing in breath.

"Five Stars - After witnessing Labrador firsthand, it's not hard to figure out what all the excitement is about." - Dan Lett, Winnipeg Free Press

"It's hard to turn quirkiness into a reliable virtue, but TJ Dawe is so consistently original that he has become one of my favourite fringe performers." - Colin Thomas, Georgia Straight

"Dawe has storytelling down to a fine art. This man's timing and delivery, and the accuracy of his eye on Canada's extremities, are masterful" - Peter Birnie, Vancouver Sun

TJ has toured Labrador through Canada, the US and Australia. It was voted Volunteer Choice in Saskatoon and Best Male Performer in Victoria.

The script of Labrador is available through Brindle & Glass.
